Eduardo Perez, also known as his super-villain name El Macho, or simply just Eduardo, is a super-villain mastermind who serves as the main antagonist in Despicable Me 2.

Bio

Beginnings

Some 20 years ago, Eduardo terrized Mexico as the super-villain El Macho. He was ruthless, he was dangerous, and as the name implies, very Macho. One day, El Macho apparently commited suicide in the most macho way possible: riding a shark, while holding two pineapple grenades and with 250 pounds of dynamite strapped to his chest, straight into the mouth of an active volcano. A body was never found, only a pile of chest hair.

In reality, El Macho faked his death and had gone into hiding. He moved to America, married, had a son named Antonio, and later owned a very successful Mexican restuaunt named "Salsa y Salsa" in the Paradise Mall.

Eduardo's wife apparently died at some point.

Despicable Me 2

In Despicable Me 2, Eduardo is first seen at the bakery and meets Gru and Lucy. After Eduardo leaves, Gru is suspicious and believes that Eduardo is, indeed, El Macho.

Trivia

  • He has a large tattoo of the Mexican flag as a restraunt owner. Surprisingly, in his El Macho form, the tattoo is nowhere to be seen.
  • It's possible that the medallion that he wears can be flipped from an E to an M.
  • Eduardo speaks with a Spanish accent.
  • It is still unknown about how El Macho faked his death.
