Group: Perfect - Level: Ultimate - Type: Data - Attack Techniques: Nightmare Syndrome/r, Hyper Flashing Digitamamon runs a restaurant on an island on the continent of Server, where he is aided by Vegiemon. After the DigiDestined split up following Tai's disappearance, Joe and Gomamon found their way to the island, and ate at the restaurant, but found they were unable to way, and wound up washing dishes to pay back Digitamamon. Matt and Gabumon arrived, having left T.K. and Patamon on the shore of the lake the island was located in, intending to just have a look around and head back - but upon discovering Joe, they offered to help him out. However, DemiDevimon, following orders from Myotismon, set about causing all manner of accidents at the restaurant, making it seem as though they were Joe's fault. The two humans and their Digimon were made to keep working by Digitamamon to pay for the damages, plus Matt's anger prevented his Crest from glowing. When Tai returned, he and T.K. quickly came to the island, and implicated DemiDevimon as the culprit. When Matt tried to leave, Digitamamon refused to let him, and grew in stature, attacking the kids. His Nightmare Syndrome made short work of Garurumon and Greymon, but when Joe saved T.K. from the clutches of Vegiemon, Matt realised that he was truly his friend, and his Crest began to glow, allowing Garurumon to Digivolve toWereGarurumon. WereGarurumon defeated Digitamamon, and Vegiemon fled, allowing the kids to leave.
Four years later, Digitamamon continued to run his diner, but he had since had a change of heart. When the new DigiDestined team were searching for a new Digi-Egg, they came across Digitamamon's diner, and had a meal there. However, trouble started when Digitamamon wouldn't accept Yolei's regular dollars as payment, demanding Digi-Dollars. Fortunately, Michael and Mimi showed up to offer to pay, but Digitamamon realised how mean he was being, and let the bill slide. Yolei still didn't believe that he had changed, and that he was still as mean as ever. She was almost proved right shortly thereafter, when Digitamamon was captured by one of the Digimon Emperor's Dark Spirals and made to attack the kids, even head-butting Mimi. Yolei lost her temper and started yelled at Digitamamon, accusing him of lying and talking about the importance of being sincere - and just then, the Digi-Egg of Sincerity appeared, and Yolei used it to Armour Digivolve Hawkmon into Shurimon, who destroyed the Spiral and freed Digitamamon.
Some time later, Digitamamon was seen running a Chinese restaurant in a Chinatown area in the DigiWorld. His noodle soup was popular with Arukenimon andMummymon, who demanded to know what was in it. Mummymon's attempt to find out was interrupted by the arrival of the DigiDestined, and Digitamamon and his waiter, Tapirmon fled. Mummymon and Arukenimon pursued them, and discovered that the water for the soup was coming from a natural spring, which had, bizarrely, been transformed into soup by the powers of a Destiny Stone within it. Digitamamon and Tapirmon tried to stop Mummymon from sampling from the spring, but he just bandaged them up and took a drink - resulting in the Destiny Stone's rising to the surface. When BlackWarGreymon arrived, Digitamamon and Tapirmon helped to occupy Arukenimon and Mummymon while the DigiDestined freed Azulongmon from the Stone. Digitamamon later took the DigiDestined back to his restaurant for a huge meal.
Later on, a Digitamamon (not the same one) appeared during the final battle with MaloMyotismon.
Digitamamon first appears in "Weregarurumon's Diner." His voice is supplied by Derek Stephen Prince, and is styled after that of the actor, Peter Lorre. Lorre played Ugarte, the restaurateur in the classic film, "Casablanca," and as Digitamamon is a restaurateur also, he has a Lorre-styled voiced as an in-joke.
Name: "Digi" is from "digital," and "tama" is from "tamago," the Japanese word for "egg."
