The Persian King was leading a siege on Greece, seeking to purge the gods using is powerful army and the Basilisk to aid him, making him a threat. The gods sent Kratos down to eliminate him. As the Persian King threatens a pair of women trapped in a cell, he is confronted by Kratos. The King tries to justify his actions by claiming he is purifying Greece and the Basilisk is cleansing the land. He mocks Kratos and the gods and battles him, aided by his Persian guards. During the battle, The Persian King lights his powerful sword on fire as well. But in the end, he is defeated and his guards killed, and he is impaled and thrown against a wall. As he lies helpless, he begs Kratos for mery, offering to give him his kingdom, women, and treasures. Kratos won't accept the offer and replies he won't take his gold but he will take his life. He grabs the King's treasure chest and brings it down on him, but the King blocks it. Kratos bashes the treasure chest harder repeatedly on the King's head, breaking his skull and killing him.
