The Omnidroids are the secondary antagonists of Pixar's 6th full-length animated feature film The Incredibles. They are a series of powerful battle robots created by the supervillain Syndrome as part of h

is plan to fraudulently gain the reputation of a superhero.

Biography[]

The Incredibles[]

In the film, Syndrome used his Omnidroids as a key element in his plan. First the Omnidroids would be tested on various superheroes that could interfere with his plans, thus killing off a great number of his enemies. If a superhero managed to destroy an Omnidroid, Syndrome would modify it and make it more capable against its heroic opponents, and would then test its capabilities on the super that previously destroyed it. Syndrome especially wanted to make sure his robots could defeat Mr. Incredible, and he finally tried with the Omnidroid 08.

Mr. Incredible managed to destroy it, thus resulting in Syndrome creating the prototype to his next robot - the Omnidroid 09. The Omnidroid 09 managed to defeat Mr. Incredible, but Syndrome stopped it to confront Mr. Incredible personally.

After a series of events that eventually led to Mr. Incredible's capture, Syndrome released his final robot, the Omnidroid 10 (the 09 was its basis), on the nearby city of Metroville.

His plan was to appear as a new superhero, "defeat" the robot and gain fame, so that he could later sell his inventions to allow everyone to become super, making the term "super" meaningless.

Unfortunately, the robot was able to defeat Syndrome and knock him unconscious before attacking the city on its own. Mr. Incredible later arrived with his family and managed to defeat it.

Incredibles 2[]

Although the Omnidroids do not physically appear in the film, the Omnidroid 10 made a cameo appearance on an image displaying Frozone during the latter, Mr. Incredible, and Elastigirl's meeting with Winston Devour.

Models and Evolution[]

Omnidroid 01[]

The very first version of the Omnidroid. It terminated Universal Man, Psychwave, and Everseer. It was eventually destroyed by Macroburst.

Omnidroid 02[]

The second version of the Omnidroid. It terminated Macroburst, Phylange, and Blazestone, then later on was destroyed by Downburst.

Omnidroid 03[]

The third version of the Omnidroid. It terminated Downburst and was destroyed by Hyper Shock.

Omnidroid 04[]

The fourth version of the Omnidroid. It terminated Hyper Shock, Apogee, Tradewind, Blitzerman, Vectress, and two unnamed Supers.

The superhero Gazerbeam destroyed it. A droid kind of like it is seen in level 7 "Nomanisan Island" of the videogame as a common enemy.

Omnidroid 05[]

The fifth version of the Omnidroid. This version looks close to the final version and is just before the point where it can roll. It terminated Gazerbeam and Stormicide. It was destroyed by Gamma Jack.

Omnidroid 06[]

The sixth version of the Omnidroid. It terminated Gamma Jack (due to EMP-proof electronics that it uses) and fought an unnamed Super.

This was the first model that had the ability to roll, and models that showed up later in the Omnidroid's evolution follow its design.

Nobody knows if it destroyed this Super or was destroyed by the Super.

Omnidroid 07[]

The seventh version of the Omnidroid. Its schematics were shown in the message sent to Mr. Incredible by Mirage.

Nothing else is known about it except Syndrome, who must have kept the original schematics of the other Omnidroids, including this one.

Omnidroid 08[]

Let me guess; it got smart enough to wonder why it had to take orders.
―Mr. Incredible on omnidroid 8.

The eighth version of the Omnidroid. it earlier finished of Gazerbeam after the death of omnidroid 4. Mirage mistakenly refers to it as the Omnidroid 9000, when in fact that version does not exist yet, it is the eighth version. It has five legs and a blue visored sensor cluster. he served as a major antagonist of the film

The Omnidroid v.8 fought Mr. Incredible when he came to Nomanisan Island, sent there under the impression that he needed to deactivate the robot now that it was rampant. When Mr. Incredible encountered large slash marks on a tree and a giant footprint on the ground, the robot suddenly appeared, advancing upon him. The Omnidroid immediately slashed at Mr. Incredible with its claw, and a successful hit punched his shoulder, causing a cut in his suit. Mr. Incredible threw a punch that sent the robot flying into a tree, but the Omnidroid righted itself quickly. After dodging another attack, the Omnidroid rolled into a sphere and charged toward Mr. Incredible, who ran for it with the robot hot on his trail. Both dove into an outcrop and then into a volcano, landing heavily on its pinnacle. The Omnidroid attempted to push Mr. Incredible into the lava as he tried to push back, but then Mr. Incredible jerked to one side so that the robot fell into the lava and sank in.

However, the Omnidroid then bursted out of the lava, unscathed. It advanced onto Mr. Incredible, who tried to escape by jumping onto a chunk of rock that had broken free. But the Omnidroid then grabbed him by his feet with one of its claws and his arms with another. It attempted to pull him apart, but it unintentionally fixed Mr. Incredible's bad back, which allowed him to break free and rip off the claw that was holding his arms. Mr. Incredible then proceeded to fool the Omnidroid momentarily by being directly below its lower sensor before ripping it off, which he threw into the lava. He climbed through a hole that once held the sensor and into the innards of the robot. The Omnidroid punched itself in a vain attempt to get at Mr. Incredible, causing damage to its own bulk. Untouched by the attacks, Mr. Incredible tossed away the upper sensor and whistled for the robot to try to grab him. It brought in another claw, but Mr. Incredible dodged so that the robot tore out its own power core instead. Mr. Incredible emerged victorious as the robot fell down, motionless.

Unbeknownst to Mr. Incredible, Syndrome and Mirage were spectating Mr. Incredible's bout with the robot the whole time. Impressed by Mr. Incredible's antics and success, Syndrome requested Mirage to invite him back for another mission. In the meantime after Mr. Incredible completed his old mission, the Omnidroid v.8 was supplanted and replaced by the Omnidroid v.9, which was much more effective and successful in combat against Mr. Incredible than its previous iteration.

Omnidroid 09[]

It's bigger. It's badder. Ladies and gentlemen, it's too much for Mr. Incredible!
―Syndrome before revealing himself to Mr. Incredible

The ninth version of the Omnidroid. he is much larger than its predecessor, as well as more intelligent and very fast. he also has an orange eye. It was a minor antagonist of the film.

It only made a minor appearance in the film. It ambushed Mr. Incredible in the conference room and threw him outside into the jungle. It easily overpowered him, seemingly anticipating his moves, before catching him in its claws. It was about to use its claws to behead him, thus finishing him off, when its creator, Syndrome, intervened to reveal himself to his former childhood hero. Syndrome disabled the robot's claws to do so, and then had the Omnidroid throw him back on the ground. As Mr. Incredible and Syndrome fought, they eventually left the disengaged Omnidroid behind. The Omnidroid v.9 was never defeated, but it was used as the basis for the Omnidroid v.10, presumably upgraded to have its sensor support a laser cannon and to be capable of being transported from Nomanisan Island to Metroville. It is unknown what was done to the Omnidroid v.9. It's file says it "terminated" Mr. Incredible though Syndrome actually dealt with Mr. Incredible himself.

Omnidroid 10[]

The tenth and final version of the Omnidroid. It is identical to, but much larger than its predecessor, the 09. However, it also has a blue laser cannon and a red eye. It also has the ability to fly, but previous versions may have also had this ability. he was the final Omnidroid created by Syndrome. It is the largest, strongest, and seemingly smartest of the Omnidroids. he served as the central overall true secondary antagonist of the film. he is considered the most loyal of the Omnidroids.

With the success of Omnidroid v.9 in capturing Mr. Incredible, Syndrome finalizes the design and programming into Omnidroid v.10 and moves forward with Project Kronos. Two nights later, the robot is loaded into a rocket, which is launched with coordinates aimed at Metroville.

After Bob Parr and his family were captured by Syndrome, the villain reveals his plan: to unleash Omnidroid v.10 on Metroville and let it wreak havoc, and then appear and defeat it using his remote and his superweapons, so that he would be hailed as a hero, one giant step towards his ultimate goal of putting an end to all Supers.

The Omnidroid wreaks havoc around the city and the military fails to stop it. At Syndrome's island lair, the henchmen revel in news coverage of the rampage. The Omnidroid throws a fuel truck that nearly crushes several civilians, but Syndrome catches it. He uses the remote to cause one of the Omnidroid's legs to drop off. As he cheers for himself, pleased at what he is doing, the Omnidroid notices that the remote controls it. As per its programming, Omnidroid identifies a flaw in its tactics, that it can be remote-controlled and looses control, and in a blind fury, blasts the controller off of Syndrome's wrist, who then flees in terror. The Omnidroid refuses to let him get away that easily and shoots one of his rocket boots (either attempting to kill him or having the desired result, is unclear), causing him to crash into a roof since he couldn't fly anymore. the omnidroid becomes enraged and blamed the government for syndrome's supposedly death. he goes on a rampage and threatens to tear down Metroville to it's final atom in revenge for his creator and vows to finish what he began.

The Parr family escapes with help from a repentant Mirage and arrive in the city on a camp bus that crashes. The Omnidroid sees them there and attacks the costumed family, and a climactic battle between the Incredibles and the Omnidroid erupts. The Omnidroid attacks first, trying to crush Dash Parr, only for his sister, Violet, to save him by creating a force-field, but the Omnidroid destroys the field with its mass. Before the robot could crush them both, Bob intervenes and is able to lift the Omnidroid but is thrown away into a building. He leaps out and knocks the Omnidroid to the ground as Lucius Best (a.k.a. Frozone) arrives, having seen the robot from his apartment. He freezes the Omnidroid's joints, but it does nothing, and he and Bob are thrown away. Bob lands beside the remote, recognize it, and yells out that he has it, accidentally drawing the robot's attention. infuriated, the robot smashed bob and picked him up, trying to get his hands on and destroy the remote, blaming the remote for syndromes downfall. but Bob uses the remote to detach another of the Omnidroid's legs. the robot laughs before bob throws the remote to Dash. The Omnidroid fires at him before Elastigirl manages to destroy its gun. During the intervening battle, more of the new v.10's capabilities are revealed, including rocket-powered missile claws and a limited ability to fly on jets built into its "feet".

The Omnidroid chases after Lucius and Dash, who drop the remote. Bob tries to reach the remote but the droid fires one of its claws and it catches him. Lucius freezes the ground and the Omnidroid slips and falls from Helen tripping it before an invisible Violet grabs the remote and flees. She presses a button and the Omnidroid flies into a building, ultimately pissing him off, soon laughing insanely over his would-be victory. Dash pressed another button and Bob, who is trapped in the Omnidroid's claw, is thrown out. He realizes that the only thing that can penetrate the Omnidroid's metal shell is its own weapons, flashing back on how he defeated v.8 previously. He grabs the claw and tells Helen to find the button to activate the claw's rocket power. Lucius creates an ice wall, but the Omnidroid breaks through with little difficulty. When it is close enough, Helen presses the right button and it causes the claw to fly out of Bob's hand and through the Omnidroid, piercing its shell and extracting its core. shocked, he stands motionless for a few seconds before tipping over sideways and falling into the lake. he threatens that if syndrome was alive, he would somehow have his revenge, but not after finally exploding.

Trivia[]

  • One of the Omnidroids makes a cameo appearance inside Andy's room in Toy Story 3
  • despite what it says, it was actually Omnidroid 10 who killed universal man. while it was omnidroid 1 who killed Psychwave and Everseer.
